To win the training award is a fantastic achievement, recognition from peers is always very welcome and to win this award for a training programme designed to benefit individuals, Yorkshire Water and its contract partners is hugely rewarding.
The judges said “this well considered and innovative initiative had identified what would be a new field to most people and helped develop a forward thinking “21st century” workforce”. |

The Utility Achievement Awards are the ultimate recognition of outstanding achievement across the UK utility sectors of Electricity, Gas, Telecommunications and Water. To win such an award is a mark of being the best across the whole utility sector, the awards are therefore much coveted. |

At Yorkshire Water, Peter oversaw the project that appointed the University of Edinburgh to assist in the material development and delivery and provide course accreditation—an industry first. The training programme required candidates to commit to 23 hours of classroom study, 30 hours of pre and post course work and examinations. In the first year , in excess of 170 asset managers, project managers, people for 7 partner organisations involved in the asset management end to end process undertook the course.
